Component Testing

S46 Liftgate Handle Switch

1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
2. Disconnect the electrical connector: S46 Liftgate Handle Switch
3. Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Signal terminal 4 & Ground terminal 3 - Not Pressed
   • If less than infinite resistance 

     Replace the component: S46 Liftgate Handle Switch

   • Go to next step: If infinite resistance 
4. Test for less than 3 ohms between the test points: Signal terminal 4 & Ground terminal 3 - Pressed
   • If 3 ohms or greater 

     Replace the component: S46 Liftgate Handle Switch

   • Go to next step: If less than 3 ohms 
5. All OK.

B85 Rear Compartment Lid Key Cylinder Switch

1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
2. Disconnect the electrical connector: B85 Rear Compartment Lid Key Cylinder Switch
3. Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Signal terminal 1 & Ground terminal 2 - The switch is in the open position.
   • If less than infinite resistance 

     Replace the component: B85 Rear Compartment Lid Key Cylinder Switch

   • Go to next step: If infinite resistance 
4. Test for less than 3 ohms between the test points: Signal terminal 1 & Ground terminal 2 - The switch is in the closed position.
   • If 3 ohms or greater 

     Replace the component: B85 Rear Compartment Lid Key Cylinder Switch

   • Go to next step: If less than 3 ohms 
5. All OK.
