Removal Procedure

  1. Steering Column - Remove - Steering Column Replacement 
  2. Range Selector Lever Cable Lever - Remove - Range Selector Lever Cable Lever Replacement

    CAUTION:

    Do not use excessive force when removing the automatic transmission shift lock control from the steering column. Using excessive force may cause damage to the automatic transmission shift lock control and/or the steering column.

  3. Remove the automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid (1) from the automatic transmission control bracket. Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control Actuator Replacement

  4. Disconnect the range selector lever cable and set aside. Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement

    NOTE:

    The ignition lock cylinder should be in the OFF-LOCK position.

  5. Remove the automatic transmission park lock cable retainer (1).
  6. Disconnect the automatic transmission park lock cable (2) from the ignition lock cylinder case.

  7. Remove the automatic transmission control bolts (1).
  8. Remove the automatic transmission control (2) from the steering column.
