Installation Procedure
Position the front lower control arm (3) on the vehicle.
- Front Lower Control Arm Rear Bolt(2) - Install[2x]
Install NEW bolts.
- Front Lower Control Arm Rear Nut(1) - Install, but do NOT tighten[2x]
Front Lower Control Arm Front Bolt(2) - Install
Install a NEW bolt.
- Front Lower Control Arm Front Nut(1) - Install and tighten
Tighten
- First Pass: 100 N.m (74 lb ft)
- Final Pass: (90 - 105 degrees)
Front Lower Control Arm Rear Bolt(2) - Tighten[2x]
Tighten
- First Pass: 100 N.m (74 lb ft)
- Final Pass: (75 - 90 degrees)
- Connect the front lower control arm ball joint to the steering knuckle.
Steering Knuckle Bolt(2) - Install
Install a NEW bolt.
- Steering Knuckle Nut(1) - Install and tighten
Tighten
- First Pass: 50 N.m (37 lb ft)
- Second Pass: Loosen 120 degrees
- Third Pass: 50 N.m (37 lb ft)
- Final Pass: (30 - 45 degrees)
- Connect any harnesses or retainers previously disconnected from the front lower control arm.
- Front Compartment Splash Shield - Install - Front Compartment Splash Shield Replacement
- Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
- Measure and adjust the wheel alignment. Wheel Alignment Measurement
CAUTION:
This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.
