Installation Procedure

  1. Ensure ALL fittings are clean and dry prior to assembly.
  2. Lubricate the fuel feed intermediate pipe fittings with silicon free engine oil.
  3. GM3682444

    Position the NEW high pressure fuel feed intermediate pipe (4) to the fuel pump (6) and the fuel injection fuel rail (1) and hand tighten the fittings (2, 5).

    4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .

  4. Tighten the fuel feed intermediate pipe fittings (2, 5) to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
    5. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  5. Install the fuel feed intermediate pipe bracket bolt (3) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
  6. Install the charge air cooler outlet air hose to the throttle body. Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose Replacement 
    7. WARNING:

    Fuel escapes - observe safety measures and national legislation. Failure to comply could result in personal injury.

    WARNING:

    Refer to Safety Goggles and Fuel Warning .

    NOTE:

    If a fuel leak occurs at the fuel pump or the fuel injection fuel rail fitting, the corresponding component will need to be replaced.

  7. Inspect for leaks using the following procedure:
    1. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
    2. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
    3. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
    4. Inspect for fuel leaks.

  9. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
