Removal Procedure

  1. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection - Disconnect
  2. Front Bumper Fascia Replacement - Remove
  3. Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Hose@Charge Air Cooler - Remove - Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Hose Replacement 
  4. Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose@Charge Air Cooler - Remove - Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose Replacement 
  5. GM4171563

    Disconnect the electrical connector.(1)

  6. GM4171557

    Engine Coolant Fan Shroud Bolt(1, 2) - Remove[2x]

  7. Raise the vehicle.

    Pull up the engine coolant fan shroud (1) until it can be put out of the 4 retaining tabs (2, 3).

  9. GM4171559

    Tilt the engine coolant fan shroud (1) as much as possible.

  10. Retain the engine coolant fan shroud.

    Disconnect the electrical connector.(1)

    NOTE:

    A second technician is required.

    Retainer Clip(1) - Unclip[2x]

  13. GM4171562

    Charge Air Cooler(2)@Radiator Assembly(1) - Remove
