Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Front Lower Control Arm

  1. Position the front lower control arm (1) on the vehicle.

    CAUTION:

    This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.

  3. Install Front Lower Control Arm Rear Bolt (2)

    Install NEW bolts.

  4. Install Front Lower Control Arm Rear Nut (1), but do NOT tighten

  6. Install Front Lower Control Arm Front Bolt (1)but do NOT tighten

    Install NEW bolts.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  8. Use the EN-45059  meter to tighten the front lower control arm rear nuts. (1)

    Tighten

    1. First Pass: 100 N.m (74 lb ft)
    2. Final Pass: (30 - 45 degrees)

  10. Use the EN-45059  meter to tighten the front lower control arm front bolts.(1)

    Tighten

    1. First Pass: 100 N.m (74 lb ft)
    2. Final Pass: (45 - 60 degrees)
  11. Fig 6: Steering Knuckle Nut

  12. Install Steering Knuckle Nut (1)
  13. Use the EN-45059  meter to tighten the steering knuckle nut.(1)

    Tighten

    1. First Pass: 35 N.m (26 lb ft)
    2. Final Pass: (30 - 45 degrees)
  14. Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
  15. Measure and adjust the wheel alignment. Wheel Alignment Measurement
