Installation Procedure

  1. Install Starter (3)
    2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution

  2. Install and tighten Starter Mounting Bolt (2) to 58 N.m (43 lb ft)
  3. Install and tighten Starter Mounting Nut (1) to 58 N.m (43 lb ft)

  4. {If equipped} Connect Engine Coolant Heater Cord (2)
  5. Install Battery Positive Cable (4)
  6. Install and tighten Starter Solenoid Cable Nut (3) to 12.5 N.m (111 lb in)
  7. Connect Electrical Connector (1)
  8. Install Transfer Case. Refer to Transfer Case Replacement
  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Connect the negative battery cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (without KL9) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (with KL9)
