Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
- Remove the engine control module (S53) from the battery tray. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement
- Open the battery positive cable terminal cover (2).

- Remove the engine wiring harness junction block cover (1).
- Disconnect the body wiring harness connectors (1) and remove the body wiring harness (2) from the battery positive cable junction block.

- Loosen the battery positive cable junction block post nut (1).

- Remove the engine wiring harness junction block nut (2).
- Remove the battery positive cable (3) from the battery and the engine wiring harness junction block.
- Remove the battery positive cable retainers (1) and remove the battery positive cable (2) from the battery tray.

- Remove the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement .
- Remove the battery negative and positive ground nut (1) and remove the battery positive cable (2) from the frame stud ground.

- Remove the battery positive cable nut (1) from the starter solenoid.

- Remove the battery positive cable ground bolt (4).
- Remove the protective cover (3) at the back of the generator.
- Remove the generator B (+) nut (2) from the generator B+ Stud.
- Remove the battery positive cable (5).
