Installation Procedure
- Install Fuel Pump
- Install Fuel Pump Nut and tighten 25 N.m. (18 lb ft)CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
- Install Engine Front Cover Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement
- Install Fuel Injection Pump Drive Pulley Refer to Fuel Injection Pump Drive Pulley Replacement
- Replace the fuel filter. Refer to Fuel Filter Replacement
- Prime the fuel system. Refer to Fuel System Priming
- With the engine running, check the fuel system for leaks.WARNING:
High Pressure Lines deliver diesel fuel under extreme pressure from the injection pump to the fuel injectors. This may be as high as 1600 Bar (23, 200 psi). Use extreme caution when inspecting for high pressure leaks. Fuel under this amount of pressure can penetrate skin causing personal injury, or death. Wear safety goggles and adequate clothing when servicing this fuel system.
- Using a scan tool, perform the fuel pressure regulator learn.
