Installation Procedure

  1. Remove the protecting caps from all parts.
    2. Fig 1: Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe, Fittings And Bolt

    NOTE:

    The Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe - High Pressure must not be reused, otherwise leakage may occur.

  2. Install a NEW fuel feed intermediate pipe (4) to the fuel injection fuel rail (1) and to the fuel pump (6).
    3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Handtighten the fuel feed intermediate pipe nut (2) to the fuel injection rail (1).
  4. Handtighten the fuel feed intermediate pipe nut (5) to the fuel pump (6).
  5. Tighten the 2 nuts (2, 5) to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
  6. Install the fuel feed intermediate pipe bracket bolt (3) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
  7. Install the charge air cooler outlet air hose to the throttle body. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose Replacement .
  8. Install Engine Sight Shield Replacement
  9. Connect Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
    10. WARNING:

    Fuel escapes - observe safety measures and national legislation. Failure to comply could result in personal injury.

    WARNING:

    Refer to Safety Goggles and Fuel Warning .

    NOTE:

    Ensure that all work at the engine is finished.

  10. Perform a fuel injection system leak test.
    1. Start the engine.
    2. Check the fuel system for leaks.
