Removal Procedure

  1. Record all of the radio station presets.
  2. Ensure that all lamps and accessories are turned off.
  3. Turn the ignition OFF and remove the ignition key.
  4. Open the rear compartment lid.
  5. Open the rear compartment floor panel trim.
  6. For hatchback 5 use the following steps:

    1. Open the battery negative cable terminal cover (1).
      2. WARNING:

      Battery Disconnect Warning

    2. Remove the battery negative cable to rear floor panel nut (2).
    3. Disconnect Battery Negative Cable
    4. Fold the latch in arrow direction to close the battery negative cable terminal. The latch must be locked into the hook (3).
  7. For notchback 4 use the following steps:

      WARNING:

      Battery Disconnect Warning

    1. Loosen the battery negative cable to rear floor panel nut (2).
    2. Slide the battery negative cable (1) in arrow direction and secure the cable with the retainer (3).
