Removal Procedure

  1. Record all of the radio station presets.
  2. Ensure that all lamps and accessories are turned off.
  3. Turn the ignition OFF and remove the ignition key.
  4. Open the rear compartment lid.
  5. Remove Rear Compartment Floor Panel Trim Replacement (Notchback)Rear Compartment Floor Panel Trim Replacement (Hatchback)
  6. Remove Rear Compartment Floor Panel Trim Support Replacement
  7. Open the right rear door.
  8. Fold the rear seat back cushion forward to get a better access to the battery.
  9. Disconnect Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection 
  10. With start/stop system use the following steps:

      NOTE:

      Use a counterholder to prevent the battery sensor from damage.

    1. Install a open-end spanner (1) to counter-hold the battery sensor as shown in the graphic.
    2. Remove the battery negative cable nut (2).
    3. Disconnect Battery Negative Cable (3)

    5. Unclip Battery Negative Cable Clip (1)
  11. Without start/stop system use the following steps:

    1. Loosen the battery negative pole clamp nut (2).
    2. Disconnect the battery negative pole clamp (1).

    4. Remove body extension current sensor wiring harness to battery negative cable bolt (1).

    6. Disconnect the battery current sensor connector.(2)
    7. Unclip Battery Negative Cable Clip (1)

    9. Remove the battery negative cable terminal cover (1).
    10. Remove Battery Current Sensor (2)
