Removal Procedure

WARNING:

Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning

  1. Disconnect Battery Negative Cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  2. Remove Dash Upper Extension Panel Opening Cover. Refer to Dash Upper Extension Panel Opening Cover Replacement
  3. Fig 1: Radiator Surge Tank And Bracket Clip

  4. Remove Radiator Surge Tank Bracket Clip (2)
  5. NOTE:

    Do NOT disconnect the engine coolant hoses.

  6. Reposition away Radiator Surge Tank (1)

    NOTE:

    Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the brake master cylinder outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

  8. Remove Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Secondary Pipe (1) @ Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (3)

  10. Remove Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Primary Pipe (1) @ Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (3)

  12. Disconnect Electrical Connector (2) @ Electronic Brake Control Module (1)
  13. Unclip wiring harness from brake pressure modulator valve bracket.

    NOTE:

    Cap the brake pipe fittings to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

  15. Loosen Brake Pipe Fittings (2) (Qty: 4)
  16. Remove Bolt (1)
  17. Remove the electronic brake and traction control module and brake pressure modulator valve (3) along with brake pressure modulator valve bracket from the vehicle.
  18. Remove Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Bracket. Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Bracket Replacement
