Installation Procedure

  1. Install Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Bracket. Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Bracket Replacement

  3. Install the electronic brake and traction control module and brake pressure modulator valve along with brake pressure modulator valve bracket to the vehicle.
  4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution

  5. Install and tighten Bolt (1) to 20 N.m (15 lb ft)
  6. WARNING:

    Make sure brake pipes are correctly connected to brake pressure modulator valve. If brake pipes are switched by mistake, wheel lockup will occur and personal injury may result. The only two ways this condition can be detected are by using a Scan Tool or by doing an Antilock stop.

  7. Tighten Brake Pipe Fittings (2) (Qty: 4) to 20 N.m (15 lb ft)

  9. Connect Electrical Connector (2) @ Electronic Brake Control Module (1)
  10. Clip in wiring harness to brake pressure modulator valve bracket.

    WARNING:

    Make sure brake pipes are correctly connected to brake pressure modulator valve. If brake pipes are switched by mistake, wheel lockup will occur and personal injury may result. The only two ways this condition can be detected are by using a Scan Tool or by doing an Antilock stop.

  12. Install and tighten Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Primary Pipe (1) @ Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (3) to 20 N.m (15 lb ft)

    WARNING:

  14. Install and tighten Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Secondary Pipe (1) @ Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (3) to 20 N.m (15 lb ft)

  16. Install Radiator Surge Tank (1)
  17. Install Radiator Surge Tank Bracket Clip (2)
  18. Install Dash Upper Extension Panel Opening Cover. Refer to Dash Upper Extension Panel Opening Cover Replacement
  19. Connect Battery Negative Cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  20. Re-program Electronic Brake Control Module. Refer to Electronic Brake Control Module Programming and Setup
  21. Bleed brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding
  22. Re-center Steering Wheel Angle Sensor. Refer to Steering Wheel Angle Sensor Centering
