Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect Battery Negative Cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  2. Remove Steering Column Lower Trim Cover. Refer to Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Replacement
    3. Fig 1: Ignition Key

    NOTE:

    The ignition key switch is not removable when the ignition is OFF.

  3. Insert the ignition key into the ignition (1) key cylinder and turn the ignition key (1) to position RUN.

  4. Depress the retainer through the lock housing access hole with a small allen wrench or similar pick-type tool.
  5. Remove Ignition Lock Cylinder (1)

  6. Remove Ignition and Start Switch Bolt (1)
  7. Remove Ignition and Start Switch (2)

    Disconnect the electrical connector.
