Throttle or Idle Learn: Description
The Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learn is a function of the ECM to learn the fully released position of the accelerator pedal by monitoring the accelerator pedal position sensor output signal. It must be performed each time harness connector of accelerator pedal position sensor or Engine Control Module is disconnected.
The Throttle Position Learn is a function of ECM to learn the fully closed position of the throttle valve by monitoring the throttle position sensor output signal. It must be performed each time the harness connector of the electric throttle control actuator or ECM is disconnected or electric throttle control actuator bore is cleaned.
The Idle Learn is a function of the ECM to learn the idle air volume that keeps the engine idle speed within the specific range. It must be performed under any of the following conditions:
Each procedure must be performed under any of the following conditions:
- Each time the Q38 Throttle Body is cleaned or replaced.
- Each time the K20 Engine Control Module reprogrammed or replaced.
- Anytime the Idle speed or ignition timing is out of specification.
