Removal Procedure
CAUTION:
Handle the electronic throttle control components carefully. Use cleanliness in order to prevent damage. Do not drop the electronic throttle control components. Do not roughly handle the electronic throttle control components. Do not immerse the electronic throttle control components in cleaning solvents of any type.
CAUTION:
DO NOT for any reason, insert a screwdriver or other small hand tools into the throttle body to hold open the throttle plate, as the wedge inside the throttle body could be damaged.
NOTE:
If at ANY time during this procedure the throttle body is dropped, abort this procedure and REPLACE it with a NEW throttle body assembly.
- With a scan tool, verify that diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P2135 is set as Current or in History.
- If DTC P2135 is set as Current or in History, proceed to Step 2.
- If DTC P2135 is NOT set as Current or in History, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle , or Symptoms - Engine Controls to determine the cause of the condition.
- Turn the ignition OFF.
- Remove Air Cleaner Outlet Duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement
- Disconnect the electronic throttle control wiring harness connector (3).
- Remove Throttle Body Nuts (1) (Qty: 2)
- Remove Throttle Body Bolts (4) (Qty: 2)
- Remove Throttle Body (2)
- Remove and DISCARD Throttle Body Gasket (3)
- Remove Throttle Position Sensor. Refer to Throttle Position Sensor Removal
