Installation Procedure

  1. Install the generator (1) to the generator mounting bracket.
    2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  2. Install the generator mounting studs (2) to the generator bracket and tighten to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).
  3. Install the engine wiring harness and battery positive cable retaining bracket (3).
  4. Install the generator mounting fasteners (4) and tighten to 45 N.m (33 lb ft).

  5. Install the battery positive cable (3) to the B + stud at the back of the generator and tighten the fastener (2) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
  6. Install the terminal boot (1).
  7. Connect the electrical connector (4) to the generator.
  8. Install the drive belt to the generator. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  9. Install the intake manifold sight shield. Refer to Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement .
  10. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary Battery) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary Battery) .
