Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary Battery) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary Battery) .
  2. Remove the intake manifold sight shield. Refer to Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement .
  3. Remove the drive belt from the generator. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

  4. Disconnect the electrical connector (4) from the generator.
  5. Reposition the protective boot (1) and remove the generator B + fastener (2).
  6. Remove the battery positive cable (3) from the generator stud.

  7. Remove the generator mounting fasteners (4) and the engine wiring harness and battery positive retainer bracket (3).
  8. Remove the generator mounting studs (2) from the generator bracket.
  9. Remove the generator (1) from the vehicle.
