Installation Procedure

  1. If you are replacing the battery with a serviced NEW battery, detach the vent plug (1), that comes with the positive post cover.

  3. Install the vent plug (1), opposite side of the battery vent hose (2).

  5. Install the auxiliary battery (3) with the hold down retainer (2) and the auxiliary battery tray bracket (1).
  6. Install the auxiliary battery vent hose.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  8. Install the auxiliary battery tray bracket nut (1) and tighten to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
  9. Install the auxiliary battery hold down retainer bolt (2) and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).

  11. Install the auxiliary negative battery cable (2) and tighten the clamp nut (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in)..
  12. Install the rear compartment side trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel Replacement (Left Side)Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel Replacement (Right Side) .
  13. Connect the primary negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary Battery) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary Battery) .
