Installation Procedure
- Lubricate the threads and sealing surface of the NEW fuel rail pressure sensor with one drop of clean engine oil.
- Install the NEW fuel rail pressure sensor (1) to fuel injection fuel rail (3) and hand tighten.
- Install Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Fuel Pressure Sensor (1) @ Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly (2)
- Re-lubricate with one drop of clean engine oil.
- Install and tighten Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Fuel Pressure Sensor (1) to 32 N.m (24 lb ft).
- Connect the electrical connector (2).
- Install Intake Manifold Cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement »Install
- Connect Battery Negative Cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
- When the replacement is completed, use a scan tool to perform the appropriate reset functions. Refer to Control Module References .
- Inspect for fuel leaks using the following procedure:
- Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
- Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
- Ignition On/Vehicle In Service Mode & Engine Off
- Inspect for fuel leaks, using tissue paper or hydrocarbon sniffer.
- Start vehicle and re-inspect for fuel leaks with engine at idle.
- Re-inspect for fuel leaks with engine at 3,000 rpm no load.

NOTE:
Applying force to the plastic housing of the sensor may damage the sensor. To tighten or loosen, apply force only to the attached hexagon.
NOTE:
Ensure that the fuel rail threads have been cleaned of any excess fuel, or the NEW fuel injection fuel rail fuel pressure sensor will NOT seal properly.
