Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: EGR Cooler, Bolts And Gaskets

  1. Install NEW gaskets (1, 2) (Qty: 2)
  2. Install Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler (4)
    3. NOTE:

    Do NOT tighten.

  3. Install Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Bolt (3) (Qty: 2)

    NOTE:

    Do NOT tighten.

  4. Install Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Bolt (3) (Qty: 2) @ Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler (1)
    5. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution

  5. Install the exhaust gas recirculation temperature sensor - position 2 (2) and tighten to 42 N.m (31 lb ft).

    NOTE:

    Do NOT tighten.

  6. Install Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Bolt (2) (Qty: 2)
  7. Install the exhaust gas recirculation temperature sensor - position 1 (1) to the exhaust gas recirculation cooler (3) and tighten to 42 N.m (31 lb ft).
  8. Tighten all 6 exhaust gas recirculation cooler bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in)

  9. Connect Thermostat Bypass Hose (2)
  10. Tighten Thermostat Bypass Hose Clamp (1)
    11. Fig 5: EGR Cooler, EGR Cooler Water Bypass Outlet Hose, Heater Inlet Hose And Clamps

  11. Connect Heater Inlet Hose (2) @ Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler (1)
  12. Connect Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Water Bypass Outlet Hose (4) @ Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler (1)
  13. Tighten Clamp (3) (Qty: 2)
  14. Install Three-Way Catalytic Converter. Refer to Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement
  15. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling
