Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2015 Chevrolet Spark. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the front strut assembly to the vehicle.

  2. Install the strut mounting plate (3).
  3. Using the CH-49375  wrench, install the strut upper mounting nut (2) and tighten to 65 N.m (48 lb ft).
    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
    CAUTION: Completely fix the strut pivot with the special tool not to rotate when removing the strut upper mounting nut. Failure to do this could cause damage to the vehicle or component.
  4. Install the strut cover (1).
  5. Install the plenum lower panel. Refer to Plenum Lower Panel Replacement .
  6. Raise and support the vehicle.
  7. Install the front strut to the steering knuckle.

  8. Install the steering knuckle to strut retaining bolts and nuts (1) and tighten to 80 N.m (59 lb ft).
  9. Tighten the nuts at the final pass to an additional 38 degrees.
  10. Install the stabilizer link to the strut and install the stabilizer shaft link to strut retaining nut (1) and tighten to 43 N.m (32 lb ft).

  11. Install the wheel speed sensor wiring harness grommet (2) to the strut bracket, if equipped with ABS.

  12. Install the brake hose grommet (1) to the strut bracket.
  13. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  14. Lower the vehicle.
  15. Check the front wheel alignment. Refer to Wheel Alignment Specifications .
