Installation Procedure
- Position the intermediate steering shaft (2) and seal in the vehicle by carefully guiding into place from under the instrument panel.
- Align the match marks and connect the intermediate steering shaft to the steering column shaft.
- Apply NEW threadlocker to the intermediate steering shaft bolt (1). Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Install the intermediate steering shaft bolt (1) and tighten to 36 N.m (27 lb ft).
- Push the intermediate steering shaft seal (1) into place and ensure all the retaining clips are secure.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Connect the intermediate steering shaft (2) at the steering gear.
- Install the NEW steering gear coupling bolt (1) and tighten to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

CAUTION:
This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.
