Circuit/System Verification
- Ignition ON, observe the scan tool Driver Shift Control parameter, while moving the transmission shift through the park, reverse, neutral and drive positions. The parameter should display Inactive.
- If the parameter displays Active

- If the parameter displays Inactive
- If the parameter displays Active
- Place the gear shift lever into the manual mode position.
- Verify the Driver Shift Control mode parameter displays Active.
- If the parameter does not display Active

- If the parameter does display Active
- If the parameter does not display Active
- Verify the scan tool Up and Down Shift Switch 2 parameter displays Upshift while pushing the plus (+) shift switch rearward.
- If the parameter does not displays Upshift

- If the parameter does displays Upshift
- If the parameter does not displays Upshift
- Verify the scan tool Up and Down Shift Switch 2 parameter displays Down Shift while pushing the minus (-) shift switch rearward.
- If the parameter does not displays Down Shift
Refer to Circuit/System Testing.
- If the parameter does displays Down Shift
- If the parameter does not displays Down Shift
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observe from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
- Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets
