Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF and all vehicle systems OFF. Disconnect the harness connector at the S2R Transmission Manual Shift Switch. It may take up to 2 min. for all vehicle systems to power down.
- Test for less than 5 ohms between the ground circuit terminal 2 and ground.
- If 5 Ω or greater
- Ignition OFF.
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the ground circuit, wire end to wire end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the wire circuit.
- If less than 2 Ω, repair the open/high resistance in the ground connection.
- If less than 5 Ω
- Ignition ON.
- Test for 11.6-12.4 V between the signal circuit terminal 1 and ground.
- If not within the specified range
- Ignition OFF. Disconnect the X3 harness connector at the K9 Body Control Module.
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground in the signal circuit wire.
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the signal circuit, wire end to wire end.
- If greater than 2 Ω, repair the open/high resistance in the wire circuit.
- If less than 2 Ω, replace the K9 Body Control Module.
- If within the specified range
- Test for infinite resistance between terminal 1 and terminal 2 of the S2R Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Right.
- If less than infinite resistance
Replace the S2R Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Right.
- If infinite resistance
- If less than infinite resistance
- Test for 624-644 Ω between terminal 1 and terminal 2 of the S2R Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Right, with the switch closed.
- If not within the specified range
Replace the S2R transmission Manual Shift Switch - Right.
- If within the specified range
- If not within the specified range
- Ignition OFF.
