Installation Procedure

  1. Position the steering linkage relay rod on the vehicle.

  3. Install the pitman arm to the steering linkage relay rod.
  4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  5. Install the steering linkage pitman arm nut and tighten to 63 N.m (46 lb ft).

  7. Install the steering linkage idler arm to the steering linkage relay rod.
  8. Install the steering linkage idler arm nut and tighten to 63 N.m (46 lb ft).

    Install a NEW nut.

  10. Rotate the steering linkage relay rod as necessary to install the steering linkage inner tie rod to the steering linkage relay rod.

    Do this step for both sides of the vehicle.

  12. Install the steering linkage inner tie rod retaining nut.

    Install a NEW nut.

    Do this step for both sides of the vehicle.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  14. Hold the steering linkage inner tie rod retaining nut with a suitable tool and use the J-34028  wrench to tighten the steering linkage inner tie rod to 112 N.m (83 lb ft).

    Do this step for both sides of the vehicle.

  15. Measure and adjust the front toe. Wheel Alignment - Steering Wheel Angle and/or Front Toe Adjustment
