Installation Procedure

Install the new door handle (1) through the door trim panel.

Install 4 M6.3 STMPD Type SR ZC nuts (1), 1 to each heat stake shaft (2).

CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

NOTE: Do not over tighten the nuts.

Once the fasteners are secure, cut the remaining plastic portion of each heat stake shaft off just above the fastener to assure that the shafts do not contact the inner-door sheet metal when the door trim panel is re-installed.
After cutting the heat stake portion above the fastener, sand the heat stake down as close to the fastener as possible. For heat stakes that are not accessible enough to sand, a 6 mm (15/64 in) drill bit can also be used to remove remaining heat stake material above the fastener.
Install the front or rear side door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Replacement or Rear Side Door Trim Replacement .
