Removal Procedure

  1. Record all of the radio station presets.
  2. Ensure that all lamps and accessories are turned off.
  3. Turn the ignition OFF and remove the ignition key.
  4. Open the rear compartment lid.
  5. Rear Compartment Floor Panel Trim Replacement » Remove
  6. Rear Compartment Floor Panel Trim Support Replacement » Remove
  7. Open the right rear door.
  8. Fold the rear seat back cushion forward to get a better access to the battery.
  9. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection » Disconnect
  10. With start/stop system use the following steps:
    1. Install a open-end spanner (1) to counter-hold the battery sensor as shown in the graphic.

      NOTE: Use a counterholder to prevent the battery sensor from damage.
    2. Remove the battery negative cable nut (2).
    3. Battery Negative Cable (3)» Disconnect
    4. Battery Negative Cable Clip (1)» Unclip [2x]

  11. Without start/stop system use the following steps:
    1. Loosen the battery negative pole clamp nut (2).

    2. Disconnect the battery negative pole clamp (1).
    3. Remove body extension current sensor wiring harness to battery negative cable bolt (1).

    4. Disconnect the battery current sensor connector. (2)

    5. Battery Negative Cable Clip (1)» Unclip [2x]
    6. Remove the battery negative cable terminal cover (1).

    7. Battery Current Sensor (2)» Remove
