Removal Procedure

    WARNING:

    To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.

    WARNING:

    Refer to Safety Glasses Warning .

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Fuel Pressure Relief 
  2. Drain the fuel tank. Fuel Tank Draining 
  3. Remove Two-Piece Propeller Shaft - Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement (Coupe MM6, M13)Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement (Convertible MM6, M13)Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement (Coupe M5T, M5U)Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement (Convertible M5T, M5U)
  4. Remove the left front rear suspension bracket. Rear Suspension Bracket Replacement (Rear (Coupe))Rear Suspension Bracket Replacement (Front)
  5. Remove Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe-Mid Line Left and Mid Line Right - Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Replacement (LT1 With M5U or MM6, With KNR, ATOC Jumper)Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Replacement (LT1 With MM6, With KNR, Front Jumper Left)Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Replacement (LT1 With MM6, With KNR, Mid Line Left)Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Replacement (LT1 With MM6, With KNR, Mid Line Right)Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Replacement (LT1 With M5U or MM6, With KNR, Rear Differential Inlet Hose)Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Replacement (LT1 With M5U or MM6, With KNR, Rear Differential Outlet Hose)Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Replacement (LT1 With M5U, With KNR, Mid Line Left)Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Replacement (LT1 With M5U, With KNR, Mid Line Right)

  7. Disconnect Electrical Connector (1)

  9. Remove Fuel Tank Filler Hose Clamp (1)
  10. Remove Fuel Tank Filler Hose (2)
  11. Disconnect Evaporative Emission Canister Hose (3) - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  12. Disconnect Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Hose (4) - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  14. Disconnect Fuel Feed Pipe (1) - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  15. Disconnect Evaporative Emission Pipe (2) - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  17. Support the fuel tank with a suitable jack.
  18. Remove Fuel Tank Strap Bolt (1) (Qty: 3)
  19. Remove Fuel Tank Strap Bolt (2) (Qty: 2)
  20. Remove Fuel Tank Strap (3) (Qty: 2)

  22. Remove Fuel Tank (1)
  23. Transfer components as necessary.
