Removal Procedure

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Fuel Pressure Relief

  2. Remove Fuel Pump Insulator (1) - Fuel Pump Insulator Replacement

  3. Remove Fuel Feed Pipe Fastener (4)
  4. Disconnect Fuel Feed Pipe (1) at Fuel Pump (2) - Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  5. Remove and DISCARD the high pressure fuel feed pipe (1) that connects the fuel pump to the crossover pipe (3).
  6. Disconnect and reposition the fuel pump and injector harness as needed.

    CAUTION:

    Alternately loosen the fuel pump bolts one turn at a time until the pump is fully disengaged from fuel pump lifter follower. Trying to remove the pump bolts without even side-to-side loosening may result in pump plunger damage

  7. Remove Fuel Pump Bolt (5) (Qty: 2)
  8. Remove Fuel Pump Cover (4)
  9. Remove Retainer (3) (Qty: 2)
  10. Remove the fuel pump (2) and fuel pump gasket (1) from the engine.
  11. DISCARD the fuel pump gasket.
