Removal Procedure

  1. Remove Air Cleaner Resonator-Air Cleaner Outlet Duct to Engine - Air Cleaner Resonator Replacement (Air Cleaner Outlet Duct to Engine) 
  2. Remove the drive belt. Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory

  3. Disconnect the engine wiring harness connector (1), oil pump flow control valve connector (2), camshaft position actuator solenoid connector (3), and camshaft position sensor connector (4).

  4. Remove the camshaft position sensor bracket fasteners (1) from the engine block.

  5. Reposition the camshaft position sensor bracket and sensor wiring harness (1).

    NOTE:

    If reinstalling the original camshaft position sensor, inspect the seal (2) for wear and replace as needed. Always install the NEW seal supplied with the new camshaft position sensor.

  6. Remove the camshaft position sensor (1) from the engine front cover.
