Installation Procedure

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  1. Install the fastener (1), securing the generator battery control wiring harness cable (2), to the starter (4). Tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  2. Connect the engine wiring harness connector (3) to the starter (4).

  3. Install the starter (2) into position and tighten the starter mounting fasteners (1) to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  4. Position the starter shield (1) above the starter.

  5. Install the starter shield (3) into position and tighten the lower starter shield fastener (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  6. Install the upper starter shield fastener (2) and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
  7. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Dual Battery) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery) .
