Front Side Door Outside Handle Rod Adjustment

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the water deflector as needed. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Impala) .
1 Outside Door Handle Rod

Procedure

  1. Use a flat-bladed tool to release the threaded rod (1) from the clip (2).
  2. Position the rod in the clip in order to eliminate any free play in the outside door handle.
  3. Inspect the door lock system for proper operation.
