Installation Procedure

  1. Install the exhaust pipe (3) and support them.

    NOTE: A second technician is required.
  2. Install the exhaust pipe hanger insulator (1).
  3. Install a NEW gasket (5).
  4. Install exhaust pipe (3) to the three way catalytic converter (6).
    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  5. Install and tighten 2 NEW nuts (4) to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
  6. Install the exhaust pipe bracket to the exhaust pipe.
  7. Install the exhaust pipe bracket bolt (2) to the exhaust pipe bracket and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
  8. Unsupport the exhaust pipe.
  9. Install the rear axle. Refer to Rear Axle Replacement (Compound Crank) and Rear Axle Replacement (Watt Linkage) .
  10. Install the nitrogen oxide sensor - position 2. Refer to Nitrogen Oxides Sensor Replacement - Position 2 .
  11. Install the exhaust particulate sensor. Refer to Exhaust Particulate Sensor Replacement .
  12. Install the underbody rear air deflector. Refer to Underbody Rear Air Deflector Replacement .
  13. Lower the vehicle.
