Component Testing
Window Motor
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate Window Motor.
- Install a 20 A fused jumper wire between one of the control terminals and 12 V. Momentarily install a jumper wire between the other control terminal and ground. Reverse the jumper wires at least two times, the Window Motor should perform the UP and DOWN functions.
- If the Window Motor does not perform the UP and DOWN functions
Replace the Window Motor.
- If the Window Motor performs the UP and DOWN functions
- If the Window Motor does not perform the UP and DOWN functions
- All OK
Driver Window Switch
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the Window Switch-Driver.
- Test for infinite resistance between the terminals listed below with the switch in the open position:
- Ignition terminal C and control terminal A
- Ignition terminal C and control terminal D
- Ignition terminal C and control terminal G
- Ignition terminal C and control terminal H
- If less than infinite resistance
Replace the Window Switch-Driver.

Replace the Window Switch-Driver.
- If less than 3 Ω
- Test for less than 3 Ω between the terminals listed below with the switch in the Up position.
- Driver window - ignition terminal C and control terminal G
- Passenger window - ignition terminal C and control terminal A
- If 3 Ω or greater
Replace the Window Switch-Driver.
- If less than 3 Ω
- Test for less than 3 Ω between the terminals listed below with the switch in the Down position:
- Driver window - ignition terminal C and control terminal H
- Passenger window - ignition terminal C and control terminal D
- If 3 Ω or greater
Replace the Window Switch-Driver.
- If less than 3 Ω
- All OK
Passenger Window Switch
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the Window Switch-Passenger.
