Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
  3. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716 Fill) , Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) .

  4. Unclip the 3 wiring harness clips (1) from the exhaust gas recirculation pipe bracket (2).
  5. Disconnect the exhaust gas recirculation valve wiring harness plug.

  6. Remove the 3 exhaust pressure sensor pipe bolts (3, 6).
  7. Push the exhaust pressure sensor pipe (5) slightly upwards, to reach the upper exhaust gas recirculation valve bolt.

    NOTE:

    Place a basin underneath.

  8. Remove the 2 exhaust gas recirculation valve bolts (4).
  9. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation valve (3).
  10. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation valve flat washer (5).
  11. Remove the 4 closing plate bolts (2).
  12. Remove the closing plate (1).
  13. Clean the surface with soft cloth.
