Installation Procedure

  1. Install the 2 exhaust pipe front hanger insulators (4) to the three way catalytic converter (3).
  2. Install the exhaust pipe front hanger bracket (5) to the 2 exhaust pipe front hanger insulators (4).
  3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Install the 2 exhaust pipe front hanger insulators nuts (6) and tighten to 22 (16 lb ft).
  5. Install the three way catalytic converter (3) to the underbody and support them.
  6. Install the 2 exhaust pipe front hanger bracket bolts (7) and tighten to 22 (16 lb ft).
  7. Install 2 NEW front suspension support bolts (8) and tighten a first pass to 60 (44 lb ft).
  8. Tighten the 2 front suspension support bolts (8) a final pass to 30 - 45 degrees, using the EN-45059  meter.
  9. Install a NEW gasket (2).
  10. Install 2 NEW three way catalytic converter to the exhaust pipe nuts (1) and tighten to 22 (16 lb ft).

  12. Install a NEW gasket (4).
  13. Install the three way catalytic converter (1) to the oxidation catalytic converter (3).
  14. Install 3 NEW oxidation catalytic converter to the three way catalytic converter nuts (2) and tighten to 22 (16 lb ft).
  15. Install the emission reduction fluid injector. Refer to Emission Reduction Fluid Injector Replacement .
  16. Install the exhaust temperature sensor - position 3. Refer to Exhaust Temperature Sensor Replacement - Position 3 .
  17. Install the front compartment insulator. Refer to Front Compartment Insulator Replacement .
  18. After replacement, reset the diesel particulate filter (DPF) with the diagnostic tool:
    1. Turn on ignition.
    2. Connect the scan tool.
    3. Select Module Diagnosis.
    4. Select Engine Control Module.
    5. Select Configuration/Reset function.
    6. Select Catalytic Converter Reset.
    7. Push Enter button to run function.
    8. Confirm Executed successfully.
    9. Turn ignition off and confirm.
