Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
- Disconnect the stabilizer shaft link from the lower control arm. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .
- If equipped, disconnect the electronic suspension front position sensor. Refer to Electronic Suspension Front Position Sensor Replacement .
- Disconnect any harnesses or retainers secured to the lower control arm. Note any attaching points to aid in installation.
- Support the lower control arm with a post jack.
- Remove the steering knuckle nut (1).
- Use the J-43631 remover to separate the lower control arm and steering knuckle.
- Support the steering knuckle.
- Remove the shock absorber lower nuts (1).
- Remove the shock absorber lower bolts (1).
- Carefully remove the post jack.
- Remove the lower control arm nuts (1).
- Remove the lower control arm adjustment cams (1).
- Remove the lower control arm bolts (1).
- Remove the lower control arm from the vehicle.
NOTE:
Position the post jack so the lower shock absorber nuts are not obstructed and the jack does not contact the lower control arm ball joint seal.
