Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear compartment floor panel trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Floor Panel Trim Replacement (North America) , Rear Compartment Floor Panel Trim Replacement (Export - CU9, CV5, CZ3, C4E) .

  3. Lift the rear edge of the carpet (1) and fold back along the dotted line, to gain access to the battery.

  5. Remove the battery insulator (1) from the top of the battery.
  6. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .

  8. Remove the rear cargo fuse block cover (1) and loosen the battery fuse block clamp fastener (2).
  9. Remove the rear cargo fuse block (3) and set aside.

  11. Remove the battery hold down retainer bracket fasteners (1) and remove the battery hold down retainer bracket (2).

  13. Disconnect the battery vent tube (2) from the battery (1).
  14. Remove the battery (1) from the rear cargo area.
