Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear compartment floor panel trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Floor Panel Trim Replacement (North America)

- Lift the rear edge of the carpet (1) and fold back along the dotted line, to gain access to the battery.

- Remove the battery insulator (1) from the top of the battery.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .

- Remove the rear cargo fuse block cover (1) and loosen the battery fuse block clamp fastener (2).
- Remove the rear cargo fuse block (3) and set aside.

- Remove the battery hold down retainer bracket fasteners (1) and remove the battery hold down retainer bracket (2).

- Disconnect the battery vent tube (2) from the battery (1).
- Remove the battery (1) from the rear cargo area.
