Removal Procedure

WARNING:

Refer to Safety Glasses and Compressed Air Warning .

  1. Ignition OFF.
  2. Remove the rear intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Rear .
  3. If replacing the number three cylinder coil, remove the evaporative emissions canister purge solenoid valve. Refer to Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Replacement .

  4. Disconnect the ignition coil harness connectors from the ignition coils.
  5. Remove the ignition coil to camshaft cover retaining bolts (1).
  6. Remove the ignition coils (2) from the vehicle.
