Installation Procedure

  1. Position the power steering gear outlet hose to the vehicle.

  3. Position a new power steering gear outlet hose clamp (2).
  4. Connect the rubber segment to the metal segment of the power steering gear outlet hose (3, 4).
  5. Crimp the new power steering gear outlet hose crimp clamp.
  6. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  7. Install the power steering gear outlet hose bracket bolt (1) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  9. Insert the steering gear outlet hose in to the steering gear.
  10. Install the power steering gear inlet hose retaining plate bolt (1) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  11. Install the power steering gear inlet and outlet pipe clip bolt (2) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  12. Clean any excess fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
  13. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
