Circuit/System Testing
Speaker Circuit Malfunction- without Amplifier without UK6
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate speaker.
- Ignition ON, radio ON, test for 5.0-7.5 V between the signal circuit terminal A and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- Test for 5.0-7.5 V between the signal circuit terminal B and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the speaker.
Speaker Circuit Malfunction- without Amplifier with UK6
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X2 harness connector at the Auxiliary Radio/HVAC Control.
- Ignition ON, radio ON, test for 5.0-7.5 V between the appropriate signal circuit terminal listed below and ground.
- Left Rear Low Level Audio Signal (+) terminal 1
- Left Rear Low Level Audio Signal (-) terminal 2
- Right Rear Low Level Audio Signal (+) terminal 3
- Right Rear Low Level Audio Signal (-) terminal 4
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- Ignition OFF, reconnect the X2 harness connector at the Auxiliary Radio/HVAC Control. Disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate speaker.
- Ignition ON, radio ON, test for 5.0-7.5 V between the signal circuit terminal A and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal for front speaker circuits, replace the radio; for rear speaker circuits, replace the auxiliary radio/HVAC control.
- If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal for front speaker circuits, replace the radio; for rear speaker circuits, replace the auxiliary radio/HVAC control.
- Test for 5.0-7.5 V between the signal circuit terminal B and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal for front speaker circuits, replace the radio; for rear speaker circuits, replace the auxiliary radio/HVAC control.
- If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal for front speaker circuits, replace the radio; for rear speaker circuits, replace the auxiliary radio/HVAC control.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the speaker.
Amplifier Circuit Malfunction
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the audio amplifier.
- Ignition OFF, test for less than 10 Ω between the appropriate ground circuit terminal listed below and ground.
- terminal 5 (UQG)
- terminal 8 (UQA/ UQS)
- If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, verify a test lamp illuminates between the appropriate B+ circuit terminal listed below and ground.
- terminal 1 (UQG)
- terminal 4 (UQA/ UQS)
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the audio amplifier.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X3 harness connector at the audio amplifier.
- Ignition ON, Radio ON, test for B+ between the appropriate entertainment remote enable signal circuit terminal listed below and ground.
- terminal 12 (UQG)
- terminal 8 (UQA/UQS)
- If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- Mute OFF, test for less than 1.0 V between the appropriate mute signal circuit terminal listed below and ground.
- terminal 4 (UQG)
- terminal 11 (UQA or UQS)
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the audio amplifier.
Speaker Circuit Malfunction - with Amplifier UQG without UK6
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X3 harness connector at the audio amplifier.
- Radio ON, test for 5.0-7.5 V between the appropriate signal circuit terminal listed below and ground.
- Left front low level audio signal (+) -terminal 5
- Left front low level audio signal (-) -terminal 13
- Right front low level audio signal (+) -terminal 6
- Right front low level audio signal (-) -terminal 14
- Left rear low level audio signal (+) -terminal 7
- Left rear low level audio signal (-) -terminal 15
- Right rear low level audio signal (+) -terminal 8
- Right rear low level audio signal (-) -terminal 16
- If greater than the specified range, test the appropriate signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- If less than the specified range, test the appropriate signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X1 and X2 harness connectors at the amplifier.
- Ignition ON, test for less than 1 V between each of the signal circuit terminals listed below and ground.
- Left subwoofer speaker output (+) -terminal 3 X1
- Left subwoofer speaker output (-)-terminal 7 X1
- Right subwoofer speaker output (+)- terminal 4 X1
- Right subwoofer speaker output (-) -terminal 8 X1
- Left front speaker output (+)- terminal 1 X2
- Left front speaker output (-)-terminal 9 X2
- Right front speaker output (+)- terminal 2 X2
- Right front speaker output (-) -terminal 10 X2
- Left rear speaker output (+) -terminal 3 X2
- Left rear speaker output (-) -terminal 11 X2
- Right rear speaker output (+)- terminal 4 X2
- Right rear speaker output (-)- terminal 12 X2
- Front center speaker output (+) -terminal 5 X2

- If greater than the specified range, test both signal circuits of the affected speaker for a short to voltage.
- Ignition OFF, test for infinite resistance between each of the signal circuit terminals listed below and ground.
- Left subwoofer speaker output (+) -terminal 3 X1
- Left subwoofer speaker output (-)-terminal 7 X1
- Right subwoofer speaker output (+)- terminal 4 X1
- Right subwoofer speaker output (-) -terminal 8 X1
- Left front speaker output (+)- terminal 1 X2
- Left front speaker output (-)-terminal 9 X2
- Right front speaker output (+)- terminal 2 X2
- Right front speaker output (-) -terminal 10 X2
- Left rear speaker output (+) -terminal 3 X2
- Left rear speaker output (-) -terminal 11 X2
- Right rear speaker output (+)- terminal 4 X2
- Right rear speaker output (-)- terminal 12 X2
- Front center speaker output (+) -terminal 5 X2

- If less than the specified value, test both signal circuits of the affected speaker for a short to ground.
- Reconnect all harness connectors at the amplifier. Disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate speaker.
- Radio ON, test for 5.0-7.5 V between each of the appropriate signal circuit terminals listed below and ground.
- Front A pillar speakers - terminals A and B
- Center IP speaker- terminals A and B
- Door speakers - terminals A and B
- Rear compartment speakers- terminals A and B
- Subwoofer speaker assembly- terminals A, B, C, and D
- If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the audio amplifier.
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the audio amplifier.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the speaker.
Speaker Circuit Malfunction - with Amplifier UQA/UQS without UK6
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X3 harness connector at the audio amplifier.
- Radio ON, test for 5.0-7.5 V between the appropriate signal circuit terminal listed below and ground.
- Center channel low level audio signal (+) -terminal 3
- Center channel low level audio signal (+) -terminal 2
- Left front low level audio signal (+) -terminal 15
- Left front low level audio signal (-) -terminal 7
- Right front low level audio signal (+) -terminal 14
- Right front low level audio signal (-) -terminal 6
- Left rear low level audio signal (+) -terminal 13
- Left rear low level audio signal (-) -terminal 5
- Right rear low level audio signal (+) -terminal 12
- Right rear low level audio signal (-) -terminal 4
- Subwoofer low level audio signal (+) -terminal 1
- Subwoofer low level audio signal (+) -terminal 9
- If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X1 and X2 harness connectors at the amplifier.
- Ignition ON, test for less than 1 V between each of the signal circuit terminals listed below and ground.
- Left front speaker output (+)- terminal 5 X1
- Left front speaker output (-)-terminal 1 X1
- Right front speaker output (+)- terminal 8 X2
- Right front speaker output (-) -terminal 7 X2
- Left rear speaker output (+) -terminal 15 X2
- Left rear speaker output (-) -terminal 16 X2
- Right rear speaker output (+)- terminal 2 X2
- Right rear speaker output (-)- terminal 1 X2
- Front center speaker output (+) -terminal 4 X2
- Front center speaker output (-)-terminal 3 X2
- Rear compartment speaker output (+) -terminal 6 X2
- Rear compartment speaker output (-) -terminal 5 X2
- Subwoofer speaker output (+)- terminal 7 X1
- Subwoofer speaker output (-) -terminal 3 X1
- If greater than the specified value, test both signal circuits of the affected speaker for a short to voltage.
- Ignition OFF, test for infinite resistance between each of the signal circuit terminals listed below and ground.
- Left front speaker output (+)- terminal 5 X1
- Left front speaker output (-)-terminal 1 X1
- Right front speaker output (+)- terminal 8 X2
- Right front speaker output (-) -terminal 7 X2
- Left rear speaker output (+) -terminal 15 X2
- Left rear speaker output (-) -terminal 16 X2
- Right rear speaker output (+)- terminal 2 X2
- Right rear speaker output (-)- terminal 1 X2
- Front center speaker output (+) -terminal 4 X2

- If less than the specified value, test both signal circuits of the affected speaker for a short to ground.
- Reconnect all harness connectors at the amplifier. Disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate speaker.
- Radio ON, test for 5.0-7.5 V between each of the appropriate signal circuit terminals listed below and ground.
- Front A pillar speakers - terminals A and B
- Center IP speaker- terminals A and B
- Door speakers - terminals A and B
- Rear compartment speakers- terminals A and B
- Subwoofer speaker - terminals A and B
- If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the audio amplifier.
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the audio amplifier.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the speaker.
Speaker Circuit Malfunction - with Amplifier UQG with UK6
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X2 harness connector at the Auxiliary Radio/HVAC Control.
- Ignition ON, radio ON, test for 5.0-7.5 V between the appropriate signal circuit terminal listed below and ground.
- Left Rear Low Level Audio Signal (+) - terminal 1
- Left Rear Low Level Audio Signal (-) - terminal 2
- Right Rear Low Level Audio Signal (+) - terminal 3
- Right Rear Low Level Audio Signal (-) - terminal 4
- If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- Ignition OFF, reconnect the X2 harness connector at the Auxiliary Radio/HVAC Control. Disconnect the X3 harness connector at the audio amplifier.
- Radio ON, test for 5.0-7.5 V between the appropriate signal circuit terminal listed below and ground.
- Left rear low level audio signal (+) -terminal 7
- Left rear low level audio signal (-) -terminal 15
- Right rear low level audio signal (+) -terminal 8
- Right rear low level audio signal (-) -terminal 16
- If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the auxiliary radio/HVAC control.
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the auxiliary radio/HVAC control.
- Test for 5.0-7.5 V between the appropriate signal circuit terminal listed below and ground.
- Left front low level audio signal (+) terminal 5
- Left front low level audio signal (-) terminal 13
- Right front low level audio signal (+) terminal 6
- Right front low level audio signal (-) terminal 14
- If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X1 and X2 harness connectors at the amplifier.
- Ignition ON, test for less than 1 V between each of the signal circuit terminals listed below and ground.
- Left subwoofer speaker output (+) -terminal 3 X1
- Left subwoofer speaker output (-)-terminal 7 X1
- Right subwoofer speaker output (+)- terminal 4 X1
- Right subwoofer speaker output (-) -terminal 8 X1
- Left front speaker output (+)- terminal 1 X2
- Left front speaker output (-)-terminal 9 X2
- Right front speaker output (+)- terminal 2 X2
- Right front speaker output (-) -terminal 10 X2
- Left rear speaker output (+) -terminal 3 X2
- Left rear speaker output (-) -terminal 11 X2

- Reconnect all harness connectors at the amplifier. Disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate speaker.
- Radio ON, test for 5.0-7.5 V between each of the appropriate signal circuit terminals listed below and ground.
- Front A pillar speakers - terminals A and B
- Center IP speaker- terminals A and B
- Door speakers - terminals A and B
- Rear compartment speakers- terminals A and B
- Subwoofer speaker assembly- terminals A, B, C, and D
- If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the audio amplifier.
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the audio amplifier.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the speaker.
Speaker Circuit Malfunction - with Amplifier UQA/UQS with UK6
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X2 harness connector at the Auxiliary Radio/HVAC Control.
- Ignition ON, radio ON, test for 5.0-7.5 V between the appropriate signal circuit terminal listed below and ground.
- Left Rear Low Level Audio Signal (+) terminal 1
- Left Rear Low Level Audio Signal (-) terminal 2
- Right Rear Low Level Audio Signal (+) terminal 3
- Right Rear Low Level Audio Signal (-) terminal 4
- If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- Ignition OFF, reconnect the X2 harness connector at the Auxiliary Radio/HVAC Control. Disconnect the X3 harness connector at the audio amplifier.
- Radio ON, test for 5.0-7.5 V between the appropriate signal circuit terminal listed below and ground.
- Left rear low level audio signal (+) terminal 13
- Left rear low level audio signal (-) terminal 5
- Right rear low level audio signal (+) terminal 12
- Right rear low level audio signal (-) terminal 4
- If less than the specified range, test the appropriate signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the auxiliary radio/HVAC control.
- If greater than the specified range, test the appropriate signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the auxiliary radio/HVAC control.
- Radio ON, test for 5.0-7.5 V between the appropriate signal circuit terminal listed below and ground.
- Center channel low level audio signal (+) -terminal 3
- Center channel low level audio signal (+) -terminal 2
- Left front low level audio signal (+) -terminal 15
- Left front low level audio signal (-) -terminal 7
- Right front low level audio signal (+) -terminal 14
- Right front low level audio signal (-) -terminal 7
- Subwoofer low level audio signal (+) -terminal 1
- Subwoofer low level audio signal (+) -terminal 9
- If less than the specified range, test the appropriate signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- If greater than the specified range, test the appropriate signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X1 and X2 harness connectors at the amplifier.
- Ignition ON, test for less than 1 V between each of the signal circuit terminals listed below and ground.
- Left front speaker output (+)- terminal 5 X1
- Left front speaker output (-)-terminal 1 X1
- Right front speaker output (+)- terminal 8 X2
- Right front speaker output (-) -terminal 7 X2
- Left rear speaker output (+) -terminal 15 X2
- Left rear speaker output (-) -terminal 16 X2
- Right rear speaker output (+)- terminal 2 X2
- Right rear speaker output (-)- terminal 1 X2
- Front center speaker output (+) -terminal 4 X2
- Front center speaker output (-)-terminal 3 X2
- Rear compartment speaker output (+) -terminal 6 X2
- Rear compartment speaker output (-) -terminal 5 X2

- If greater than the specified value, test both signal circuits of the affected speaker for a short to voltage.
