Installation Procedure
- Route the battery positive and negative cable (1) into the front engine compartment.
- Install the battery negative cable ground terminal (2) to the upper tie bar and tighten the fastener (1) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Install the battery positive cable terminal (4) to the underhood fuse block stud (1) and tighten the fastener (3) to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
- Install the underhood fuse block cover.
- Connect the battery positive cable clamp (1) to the battery post and reinstall the protective boot.
- Connect the battery current sensor connector (1) and the instrument panel harness connector (2).
- Install the battery positive terminal (3) to the back of the generator and tighten the fastener (2) to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
- Install the protective boot onto the generator stud.
- Install the battery negative cable terminal (4) and the stud (3) to the engine block. Tighten the stud (3) to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
- Install the engine harness terminal (2) to the stud (3) and tighten the fastener (1) to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
- Install the battery positive terminal (2) to the starter and tighten the fastener (1) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Install the starter heat shield (2) and tighten the fastener (1) to 5 N.m (44 lb in).
- Connect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor.
- Install the air conditioning compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement .
- Install the radiator air lower baffle and deflector. Refer to Radiator Air Lower Baffle and Deflector Replacement .
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
