Removal Procedure

- Disable the parking brake cable adjuster. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling .
- Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Disconnect the parking brake intermediate cable nut (1) from the electronic parking brake control module spindle by rotating the nut counterclockwise.
- Disconnect the parking brake intermediate cable and position the cable aside.
- Remove the electronic parking brake control module front cover (1).
- Disconnect the electronic parking brake control module electrical connector.
- Remove the electronic parking brake control module bracket bolts (1).
- Remove the electronic parking brake control module and bracket assembly (1).
- If necessary, remove the electronic parking brake control module bolts (1).
- Remove the electronic parking brake control module bracket (1).
- Inspect the electronic parking brake control module bracket sleeves and insulators. Replace any damaged or missing sleeves or insulators.
- Remove the electronic parking brake control module (1) from the rear cover.
