Preliminary Procedure Remove the steering wheel inflatable restraint module. Refer to Steering Wheel Inflatable Restraint Module Replacement .
1	Steering Wheel Bolt CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Procedure Clean thread of the bolt. Apply locking compound to the thread. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers . Tighten 30 N.m (22 lb ft)
2	Steering Wheel Procedure Disconnect any electrical connectors as necessary. Loosen the steering wheel bolt until 2 to 3 threads are left engaged. Wiggle the steering wheel until the steering wheel disengages completely. Remove the steering wheel bolt. Ensure there are match marks on the steering wheel and on the steering column shaft. Remove the steering wheel. Transfer any parts as necessary. Refer to Steering Wheel Spoke Lower Cover Replacement as necessary.

Steering Wheel Bolt

Procedure

Clean thread of the bolt.

Tighten
30 N.m (22 lb ft)

Steering Wheel

Procedure

Remove the steering wheel bolt.
Ensure there are match marks on the steering wheel and on the steering column shaft.
Remove the steering wheel.
