Removal Procedure

  1. Place the transmission in PARK.
  2. Disable the parking brake cable adjuster. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling .
  3. Place the power button in the OFF position.
  4. WARNING:

    Do not use a service jack in locations other than those specified to lift this vehicle. Lifting the vehicle with a jack in those other locations could cause the vehicle to slip off the jack and roll; this could cause injury or death.

  5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  6. Remove the left rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  7. Remove the left rear wheelhouse panel liner. Refer to Rear Wheelhouse Panel Liner Replacement .

  9. Remove the parking brake cable nut (1) from the electronic parking brake control module.
  10. Disconnect the electronic parking brake control module electrical connector.

  12. Remove the electronic parking brake control module nuts (1).

  14. Lower the front of the electronic parking brake control module (1) and release the module from the grommet in the vehicle body.
  15. Remove the electronic parking brake control module.
