Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Cadillac SRX. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate DVD display.
  2. Test for less than 10 Ω between the ground circuit terminals listed below and ground.
    • Ground terminal 8
    • Ground terminal 14
    • If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
  3. Verify a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 1 and ground.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
  4. Ignition ON, radio ON, verify a test lamp illuminates between the remote enable control circuit terminal 2 and ground.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the remote enable circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
  5. DVD playing, test for 190-210 HZ DC between the video bright control circuit terminal 16 and ground.
    • If not within the specified range, test the control circuit for a short to voltage, short to ground, or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
  6. Command the rear screen video mode to normal, test for 190-210 HZ DC between the video mode signal circuit terminal 15 and ground.
    • If not within the specified range, test the control circuit for a short to voltage, short to ground, or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
  7. DVD playing, test for 1-3 V between the control circuit terminals listed below and ground.
    • Video Signal (+) terminal 9
    • Video Signal (-) - terminal 10
    • If greater then specified range, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
    • If less then specified range, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
  8. If all circuits test normal, replace the DVD display.
