Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Cadillac SRX. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate DVD display.
- Test for less than 10 Ω between the ground circuit terminals listed below and ground.
- Ground terminal 8
- Ground terminal 14
- If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Verify a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 1 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, radio ON, verify a test lamp illuminates between the remote enable control circuit terminal 2 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the remote enable circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
- DVD playing, test for 190-210 HZ DC between the video bright control circuit terminal 16 and ground.
- If not within the specified range, test the control circuit for a short to voltage, short to ground, or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- Command the rear screen video mode to normal, test for 190-210 HZ DC between the video mode signal circuit terminal 15 and ground.
- If not within the specified range, test the control circuit for a short to voltage, short to ground, or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- DVD playing, test for 1-3 V between the control circuit terminals listed below and ground.
- Video Signal (+) terminal 9
- Video Signal (-) - terminal 10
- If greater then specified range, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- If less then specified range, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the DVD display.
