Removal Procedure

WARNING:

Refer to Exhaust Service Warning .

WARNING:

Refer to Protective Goggles and Glove Warning .

CAUTION:

Refer to Exhaust Flexible Pipe Bending Caution .

Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement (LDE, LXV, 2H0, LUW and LFH) , Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement (2.4L LAF) , Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement (2.0L Diesel LNP) .

Remove the 3 three way catalytic converter nuts (1).
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (2.4L LAF and LEA) , Catalytic Converter Replacement (LDE, LXV, 2H0, LUW and LFH) .
Remove the 2 three way catalytic converter nuts (3).
Remove the three way catalytic converter (4) and the gasket (5).
