Installation Procedure

  1. Install the steering column telescope switch and wires through the opening in the lower steering column trim cover.
  2. Snap the steering column telescope switch wires to the retaining clips in the lower steering column trim cover.
  3. Route the switch wires to the telescope motor assembly along the column. Strap the wires in place.
  4. Connect the steering column telescope switch connector to the steering column wiring harness.

  5. Install the lower steering column trim cover tabs into the steering column housing trim extension cover.
  6. Verify that the tabs on the lower steering column trim cover (1) are fully engaged in the upper steering column trim cover and the slots in the steering column housing trim extension cover (2).
  7. Install the driver knee bolster trim panel. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Panel Replacement .
  8. Install the steering column tilt wheel release lever knob. Refer to Steering Column Tilt Wheel Release Lever Replacement .
  9. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
